Consumer prices for November rose 4.5% year-on-year

In November 2019, consumer prices rose 4.5 percent year-on-year. The increase was 4.2% in urban areas and 5.5% in rural areas. Food prices rose 19.1% and non-food prices rose 1.0%. Consumer prices rose 6.5 percent and service prices rose 1.2 percent. On average, consumer prices rose 2.8 percent in the january-november period from a year earlier.


Consumer prices rose 0.4 percent in November from a month earlier. Among them, urban areas rose 0.3 percent and rural areas rose 0.5 percent. Food prices rose 1.8%, while non-food prices were flat; Consumer prices rose 0.8 percent, while prices for services fell 0.4 percent.


Food, tobacco and alcohol prices rose 13.9 percent in November from a year earlier, pushing up the CPI by about 4.10 percentage points. Among food items, a 74.5% increase in the price of livestock and meat contributed about 3.27 percentage points to the CPI increase, of which a 110.2% increase in the price of pork contributed about 2.64 percentage points. Egg prices rose by 10.1%, affecting the CPI by about 0.06 percentage points. The price of fresh vegetables rose by 3.9%, affecting the CPI by about 0.09 percentage points. The price of aquatic products rose by 2.4%, affecting the CPI by about 0.04 percentage points. Grain prices rose by 0.7%, accounting for about 0.01 percentage point of CPI growth. Fresh fruit prices fell by 6.8%, contributing about 0.12 percentage points to the CPI decline.


Prices of the other seven categories rose one year on year. Prices for other goods and services, health care, education and culture, and entertainment rose 4.5 percent, 2.0 percent, and 1.7 percent, respectively. Prices for clothing, housing, and daily necessities and services rose 1.1 percent, 0.4 percent, and 0.4 percent, respectively. Transportation and communications prices fell 2.8 percent.


In November, food, tobacco and alcohol prices rose 1.5 percent month-on-month, contributing about 0.48 percentage point to the CPI rise. In food, the price of livestock and meat increased by 4.8%, contributing about 0.34 percentage points to the CPI increase. The price of fresh vegetables increased by 1.4%, affecting the CPI by about 0.03 percentage points. Fresh fruit prices dropped by 3.0%, affecting the CPI by about 0.05 percentage points. Prices of aquatic products and eggs both fell by 0.5%, contributing about 0.01 percentage point to the CPI decline.


The other seven categories of prices rose one and four fell. Clothing and health care rose 0.3 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively. Flat housing prices; Prices for other goods and services, education and culture, and entertainment fell 0.8 percent and 0.7 percent, respectively. Prices for transportation and communications, and daily necessities and services fell 0.3 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively.

1. Index interpretation


The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is a measure of the relative changes in the prices of Consumer goods and services over time and a comprehensive reflection of the changes in the prices of Consumer goods and services purchased by residents.


2. Statistical scope


The consumer price survey covers 262 basic categories of commodity and service prices of food, tobacco, alcohol, clothing, housing, articles of daily use and services, transportation and communication, education, culture and entertainment, medical care and other articles and services consumed by urban and rural residents.


3. Survey methods


Sampling survey method is adopted to select and determine survey outlets, and in accordance with the principle of "setting people, fixed points and fixed times", direct personnel are sent to survey outlets to collect the original prices. The data came from more than 88,000 price survey sites in 500 cities and counties in 31 provinces (autonomous regions and cities), including shopping malls (stores), supermarkets, farmers' markets, service outlets and Internet e-commerce.

For "rounding" reasons, the aggregate data is sometimes the same as the higher or lower values of the classified data.

 

2019年11月份,全国居民消费价格同比上涨4.5%。其中,城市上涨4.2%,农村上涨5.5%;食品价格上涨19.1%,非食品价格上涨1.0%;消费品价格上涨6.5%,服务价格上涨1.2%。1—11月平均,全国居民消费价格比去年同期上涨2.8%。

一、各类商品及服务价格同比变动情况

 

11月份,食品烟酒类价格同比上涨13.9%,影响CPI(居民消费价格指数)上涨约4.10个百分点。食品中,畜肉类价格上涨74.5%,影响CPI上涨约3.27个百分点 其中猪肉价格上涨110.2%,影响CPI上涨约2.64个百分点; 蛋类价格上涨10.1%,影响CPI上涨约0.06个百分点;鲜菜价格上涨3.9%,影响CPI上涨约0.09个百分点;水产品价格上涨2.4%,影响CPI上涨约0.04个百分点;粮食价格上涨0.7%,影响CPI上涨约0.01个百分点;鲜果价格下降6.8%,影响CPI下降约0.12个百分点。

 

其他七大类价格同比六涨一降。其中,其他用品和服务、医疗保健、教育文化和娱乐价格分别上涨4.5%、2.0%和1.7%,衣着、居住、生活用品及服务价格分别上涨1.1%、0.4%和0.4%;交通和通信价格下降2.8%。

 

二、各类商品及服务价格环比变动情况

 

11月份,食品烟酒类价格环比上涨1.5%,影响CPI上涨约0.48个百分点。食品中,畜肉类价格上涨4.8%,影响CPI上涨约0.34个百分点,其中猪肉价格上涨3.8%,影响CPI上涨约0.18个百分点;鲜菜价格上涨1.4%,影响CPI上涨约0.03个百分点;鲜果价格下降3.0%,影响CPI下降约0.05个百分点;水产品和蛋类价格均下降0.5%,合计影响CPI下降约0.01个百分点。

 

其他七大类价格环比两涨一平四降。其中,衣着、医疗保健价格分别上涨0.3%和0.1%;居住价格持平;其他用品和服务、教育文化和娱乐价格分别下降0.8%和0.7%,交通和通信、生活用品及服务价格分别下降0.3%和0.1%。

1.指标解释

居民消费价格指数(Consumer Price Index,简称CPI)是度量居民生活消费品和服务价格水平随着时间变动的相对数,综合反映居民购买的生活消费品和服务价格水平的变动情况。

2.统计范围

居民消费价格统计调查涵盖全国城乡居民生活消费的食品烟酒、衣着、居住、生活用品及服务、交通和通信、教育文化和娱乐、医疗保健、其他用品和服务等8大类、262个基本分类的商品与服务价格。

3.调查方法

采用抽样调查方法抽选确定调查网点,按照“定人、定点、定时”的原则,直接派人到调查网点采集原始价格。数据来源于全国31个省(区、市)500个市县、8.8万余家价格调查点,包括商场(店)、超市、农贸市场、服务网点和互联网电商等。

由于“四舍五入”原因,有时会出现合计数据与分类数据高值或低值相同的情况。
